Rare footage (no sound unfortunately) of Marilyn on her 36th birthday. She attended a baseball charity event for Muscular Dystrophy.
On June 1, 1962 Marilyn celebrated her 36th birthday on the set of Something’s Got To Give. The cast and some of the crew pitched in money to buy Marilyn a small birthday cake, and Fox Studios sent over coffee which after her death they charged to her estate. George Cukor made the cast and crew hide the cake until Marilyn had completed a full days work. Her “birthday party” lasted only a half-hour.

After her birthday party ended, she attended a baseball charity event for Muscular Dystrophy. This was her last public appearance.

A week later, she was fired from Something’s Got To Give.
When Liz Taylor was given a lavish birthday party on the set of Cleopatra, Fox Studios had spent over $6,000…
“I want to find myself, way deep inside. And enjoy being myself. It isn’t easy. Nothing’s ever easy as long as you go on living.”
Happy 86th Birthday Marilyn Monroe!

Hi everybody! As you all know tomorrow is what would’ve been Marilyn’s 86th birthday…
It would mean the world to me if as many of my followers would submit videos or texts explaining when/how/why you fell in love with Marilyn, what she means to you, your favorite film of hers, and anything else you’d like to add. Please make your submissions as personal as possible!
I will post ALL of them on this blog. I’ll try my hardest to make a video of my own to share my Marilyn story :-) Thank you and I can’t wait to publish your submissions! I know they’ll make Marilyn proud to have fans like us!
